AI Suspension
From a single rendered frame, we asked AI to extend the shot and turn it into a video. However, after a promising and suspenseful couple of seconds, the AI fumbles, starts to trip, and falls flat on its face just before the finish line 🤦♂️.
This video perfectly demonstrates the lack of intent of AI. The fact that anything comes out is amazing in itself, AI is a wonderful and powerful tool.
So, is this bad? No, not at all, it’s just funny and serves as a great reminder that while AI is impressive, it isn’t a one-click solution. Sometimes, achieving that simple movement is easier by doing it by hand rather than endlessly prompting the system.
This shot was created by my good friend Roger Dourado, and it’s part of our journey towards establishing an AI division at Not Important Studio—aimed at lightening the workload, making difficult shots easier, and sometimes even missing the mark completely so we can step in and do it by hand anyway.
